this guy has gone up a notch or two in my estimation. He is smart to turn down the worshipers who would desert him at the slightest sign of trouble. The Tea Partiers would not have found him acceptable at all. Better to wait for the storm to pass. There is no common sense in DC right now.

Amanda Knox Wins Appeal, As Italian Court Overturns Murder Conviction : The Two-Way : NPR
A storybook finish. I did not think it would turn out like this. I don't know what we can take away from this except that the outside world's judicial system is different from our. Amanda has been given a second chance at a life. She should treat it as such.

Pinched by the People
Politicians Pinched by Protest Downtown - WSJ.com
I hope they are fearfully pinched. Yes, the politicians that represent the area are Democrats for the most part including the Senator from Wall Street, Chuck Schumer. I suggest that they need to get off the nest that is feathered with Wall Street contributions and get on the side of the people. And if they can do that then the Republicans should have the intestinal fortitude to join them.
People in this country don't do this unless severely stressed. The powers should listen and take action on behalf of the people.
A report yesterday had the giant Wall Street firm, J.P. Morgan-Chase, making a $4.6 million contribution to the NYPD. Ever wonder what that is suppose to buy?
Still no bankers in jail.

The Street certainly doesn't want this crusader for the people to take root. They want to continue doing business in the dark and leaving the consumer with the price tag.
