Fade Away

Former "60 Minutes" Commentator Andy Rooney Dies - YouTube

Rooney just quit his spot on 60 minutes a short while ago.  He was one of the last of the old print journalists that migrated to television.  Rooney and those other guys were genuine reporters as compared to the showmen of today.  He'll be missed.

  1. Andy Rooney was so much a part of my early TV days, and you probably know how long ago I mean by that! My friend, Lizzie, posted this earlier today and I thought it was a nice tribute.

"I was waiting to cross Riverside Drive with Alfred, my first bulldog. Cars were zooming by and a white Honda pulled over to a stop, an old man got out and came over to pet Alfred. He said "I always stop for bulldogs." Then he went back to his car and on his way north. "Alfred," I said, "do you know who that was?" But he was too thunderstruck to speak."

I knew both Alfred and his companion, Lola, and everyone stopped for them, but I bet when Andy Rooney stopped, Alfred really was thunderstruck!
